Stocktaking and labelling

Count the display case by scanning it, see the result label by label

Pick the stock location and the scope, look at the expected figures and start the count. Scan a barcode or an RFID tag; when the count ends, the labels found and the labels not found are in front of you one by one.

  • A scope filter
  • Barcode and RFID scanning
  • A list of labels not found

The count scope, the scanning, the result, label definition and device sync are each explained separately.

You decide first what you are going to count

Pick the branch or the location you will count from the stock location list. Narrow the scope with the product and category filters; if the scope needs to cover RFID, tick the RFID-labelled products box.

  • Stock location, product and category scope
  • An RFID-labelled products (all stock) option
  • The expected product count and the expected quantity are shown separately

What changes with Sarraf Store?

Why does a stocktake close the day?

Counting by hand leaves the scope vague and the result on paper; scanning records both the scope and the result.

Today

A paper list and handwriting

  1. The scope is settled in conversation

Which display case or which category was counted changes from person to person.

  2. Pieces are written down one by one

Hundreds of pieces are read and ticked by hand, and a piece that is skipped does not show up as a difference.

  3. The result stays on paper

It cannot be compared with the previous count and the record cannot be shared.

The count is done, but where the difference is nobody knows.

With Sarraf Store

A Sarraf Store count

  1. The scope is picked on screen

The scope is recorded with the stock location, product and category filters, and the expected figures appear first.

  2. A count per label by scanning

A barcode or RFID is scanned; the labels found and not found are listed separately.

  3. Previous counts are on record

Each count's status, date and result is kept and exported as CSV.

Which label was found and which was not is clear.

What's included

What is in the stocktaking section?

The guide explains this section in the order of six screenshots.

  • Stock location choice

You pick from the list which branch or location you will count in.

  • RFID scope

When the RFID-labelled products (all stock) box is ticked, the expected figures are recalculated.

  • The previous counts window

Besides the card view, results can also be reached from a window with date and status columns.

  • The label definition form

Recording labels piece by piece with the stock location, product, piece barcode and RFID EPC fields.

Count movements are listed by date range and product, and the summary area opens and closes.

  • Device sync

Waiting scans and manually entered quantities are transferred to the server with Sync.

No. Even when a card says Completed it may carry a Stock quantity not verified warning underneath. A count being completed and the stock quantity being verified are not the same thing. You need to open the result and review the summary and the piece list. Do not treat the result of an incomplete or cancelled count as a definite stock difference.
